CHALLENGE

Our client had a need to implement an Organizational Change Management structure to manage the people side of change for inflight and future state projects. Changes included technology separations, new system implementations, system upgrades, and enhancements impacting Technology, People, and Process. The development of the supporting OCM structure would focus on the following:

  • Minimize resistance, increase awareness, knowledge, and adoption

  • Help to increase the probabilities that programs will achieve objectives and surpass expected ROI

Our Solution

We created a Change Management Office and Approach for utilization by the client. The approach created three change management tiers based on the level of change, scope, and duration of the project. Each project was evaluated, and the appropriate change support identified. In addition, Communication and Training support was outlined by tier to support the change initiatives.

Our Deliverables

Organizational Change Management Tool Kit:

  • An Organizational Change Management Tool Kit was developed and implemented for our clients Technology Program Management Team to provide OCM Leads with a practical guide for managing change within the organization. The OCM Tool Kit provides guidance on OCM methods and approaches using resources, tools, and templates, as well as narrative describing when and how specific OCM activities should be performed throughout the project.

OCM Governance Playbook:

  • The goal of the OCM Governance Playbook is to ensure the Change Management plan is operationalized thus enabling the Director of Change Management to successfully manage the workstream OCM Leads and all their associates through the change journey they will experience including transformation and project implementation.


Our Impact

The organization has a clearly defined change management approach. They have been provided with an OCM toolkit with templates and instructions for facilitating change within their organization. The client is now independently managing their own OCM assessments and has appointed an OCM Director to lead the client through change.
